"Jeremy" is sitting with his legs under on a chair and his hands and arms on the table. He reaches his hand out and grabs one of the clothes pins on the table. He places the clothes pin back down on to the table. The little girl sitting next to him says “Can you help me?” She hands Jeremy her paper plate with clothes pins attached to it. The paper plate has a couple letters on it and the clothes pins have words. Jeremy grabs the plate with his right hand and looks at the plate. He says “you did it right, they all match.” He then says “The word on the plate is “ap” so fi the clothes pin has the word on it with the word “ap” then it matches the plate.” He hands the plate back to her and proceeds to pick up his paper plate and then he reaches out and picks up a clothes pin. He looks at the clip, looks at the plate then clips the clothes pin to the plate. He picks up another clothes pin, looks at it, looks at his plate and clips it to his plate. He follows this process until he has filled every corner of the paper plate. Each clothes pin is spread evenly throughout the entire plate. He sets his plate down, looks at the table and picks up four clothes pins. He turns to the little girl and says “how many are there?” She says “there are four.” He says “No” he then counts one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, and eight. He was counting he end of the clothes pins, instead of each clothes pin alone. He sets the clothes pins down and walks away.
